How to stop background internet data uses in Windows 10 PC

The Internet is the most uses public communication way to the web and social network. An internet service provider is required to surfing internet as well as an OS such as Windows 7, 8 or 10 or UNIX, LINUX, MAC is also required. Today we have come up with how to stop unnecessary background data consumption in Windows 10 operating system. What the reason behind the history data uses in Windows 10 operating system is there a lot of service/process/application which consumes data frequently. Here we discuss what can we stop and how can we stop to stop background data consumption.

How to stop background internet data uses in Windows 10 PC

Step 1: Use a reliable antivirus for virus removal.


               A virus affected PC can start processing various process simultaneously and can consume your most internet data without before user notification. Use a reliable antivirus is the best recommendation for an operating system like Windows although in Windows 10 OS Microsoft added the best security and virus and malware protection using Windows defender. If you comfort about using an antivirus, then go ahead with your antivirus choice. Use a web firewall for external virus protection that comes from the internet.

Step 2: Stop Automatic Update Windows. 


             This one you should take it very seriously. If you do not wish to get any update from Microsoft, then turn it off otherwise leave as it is. Windows automatic update consumes your most Internet data until your PC is up to date. In a Windows 10 PC, there is no shortcut procedure to stop the automatic update from settings or control panel. You have to stop the Windows automatic update service from the services panel.

Open File Explorer ---> Right Click On This PC ---> Computer Management ---> Services and Application ---> Services ---> Double Click On Windows Update ---> Stop ---> Disable Service ---> Apply and OK

Step 3: Turn off live tile for Metro Apps in Windows 10 


                Disable your live tile for Metro app which consumes internet data each moment to update tile regularly. 

Go to ---> Start menu ---> Right click on Metro App ---> Live tile off

 Step 4: Set your internet connection as a metered connection. 


                 Windows 10 operating system gives you an option to set your internet connection as metered connection. When you enable metered connection some of the application may behave differently but it will reduce your data consume. 

Go to Settings ---> Network & Internet ---> Your Internet Medium (Wi-Fi/Dial-up/Ethernet) ---> Advanced options

Step 5. If you are using Google Chrome browser.


                If you are using google chrome browser, then turn off the automatic update process from services panel.

Go to Run ---> Type (Services.msc) ---> Double click on Google Update Policy ---> Disable ---> Apply and OK.

Step 6: If you are using Mozilla Firefox stop the auto update.


                   If you are using Mozilla Firefox instead of Internet Explorer or Microsoft new browsing metro app edge, then you should stop auto update to save your internet data consumption. To complete the task -

Go to ---> Open Firefox ---> Option ---> Andvanced ---> Update ---> Select never check auto updates

Step 7. Stop auto update of flash player.


                Background data consume of Internet will occur when flash player do auto update. To stop auto update of flash player 

Go to ---> Control Panel ---> Flash player ---> Update ---> Change update settings ---> Select never check for updates

Go to resource manager from task manager then network and check which service is consuming your internet data and halt the service. Before stopping a service read the service dependencies carefully. An unknown stop of service may keep your PC not responding or vulnerable. So make a change with precaution.
