Having email subscription option on your blog is an essential option and every blogger blog has an email subscription for sure I have one also. Some readers, who often use their mailbox to check new mail, want to get notified about their favourite blog`s new post directly into their mail inbox. FeedBurner is a Google free email subscription service which uses the RSS feeds content to deliver a blog content via email. Often there is a common error appears when configuring FeedBurner follow by email subscription on you blog is that “The feed does not have subscriptions by email enabled”.
Even I have faced that error and surprised when I have checked and found that I have already activated and enabled email subscription on FeedBurner. Then I found the root of the problem and what is the best solution. Here I am describing how to get rid of this error, "The feed does not have subscription by email enabled".
Step 1. Login to your FeedBurner account.
Login using your Google account into FeedBurner account to check that you have actually enabled email subscription for your readers. Click on feed title for which one you want to check and enable email subscription. You can find a step by step guide on how to setting up FeedBurner email subscription from Here.
Step 2. Check email subscription status.
Now click on (1) publicize tab then (2) email subscription and at the bottom of email subscription page, you can see that your email subscription status. If you found that your email subscription is in the inactive state then activate and click next or if you find that your email subscription is in the active state then (3) save and follow the next step.
Step 3. Fixing error.
So if your email subscription is enabled and still you are getting error “The feed does not have subscription by email enabled” when testing then I am little sure about that you are using a custom blogger template. Some blogger template design has an issue with HTML coding that causes the error when you are testing for an email subscription for your blog. You need to tweak a little with your template design. Copy that whole HTML code from <form action to </form> and paste.
<form action='http://feedburner.google.com/fb/a/mailverify?uri=DigitalDoubt' class='subscribe-form' method='post' onsubmit='window.open ('http://feedburner.google.com/fb/a/mailverify?uri=DigitalDoubt', 'popupwindow', 'scrollbars=yes,width=550,height=520');return true' target='popupwindow'>
<input name='uri' type='hidden' value='DigitalDoubt'/><input name='loc' type='hidden' value='en_US'/><input autocomplete='off' class='subscribe-css-email-field' name='email' placeholder='Enter Email '/><input class='subscribe-css-email-button' title='' type='submit' value='Submit'/></form>
How to do that?
Sign in into your blogger dashboard and go to Template and select Edit HTML and find the similar code showing in the screenshot bellow and replace with the above-copied code and click on save template. Before paste the copied code change DigitalDoubt with your own FeedBurner id.
After doing all that thing my Email subscription is working fine without any error. Surely it will fix your “The feed does not have subscription by email enabled” error.
